The perfect class for an achy back caused by sitting too long or too much bending and lifting! This practice begins prone (belly down) with a focus on strengthening and reinforcing the connection through the diagonal back myofascial lines. It continues with a short sequence on hands (or forearms) and knees to further address this connection and balance the core and peripheral muscles in these poses. Enjoy the feeling of balance and ease that results!
This practice begins with a transition from hands and knees to dog pose, then moves into standing poses. With a focus on the diagonal myofascial lines of the torso and how they are a necessary component of a healthy gait pattern...it includes a detailed version of wide legged standing forward bend, ending with a supine psoas release...a complete practice!
This deeply satisfying practice of supine floor work is a perfect rebalancer for the deepest core muscles of the body, the primary focus being the psoas and QLs (quadratus lumborum). The sequence includes strengthening, releasing, lengthening and finding the harmonious organization of these muscles that include the full body and are necessary for functional movements in our daily lives.
This delightfully integrating class begins with a focus on the jaw...releasing tension in the jaw to begin coordinating the movement of the jaw, tongue and eyes with the intention of shifting the nervous system. A series for releasing the vagus nerve completes this part of the practice. A short piece on coordinating spiraling actions between the foot, ankle, knee, hip and SI jt, then a supine series of pelvic tilting, core work and the pelvic clock introduction. A complete practice!
This practice has a deeply clarifying effect on the upper back, shoulders and neck. Focusing on strengthening and mobilizing the upper body, this sequence begins in a seated pose, moves to a supine position ( with the spine on a blanket roll) and concludes with a quadruped sequence (forearms and knees) for a detailed exploration of all the muscles of the shoulder girdle and upper back that support a strong and mobile torso. Rejuvenating!
This side lying sequence is an energizing practice of deep core work. The focus is on the relationship between the psoas and QLs and how their actions combine to create a supple and strong feeling in the deep 'waistline' of our torso. This complimentary relationship offers gracefulness and coordination to all of our whole body movements. The result is a feeling of freedom, mobility, and connectedness that brings a lightness to your whole being!
Beginning in a restorative pose, this practice is both a meditative somatic experience and a thorough practice of connecting the shoulders, thoracic spine, and core in foundational movements, then building to classical poses such as a very detailed cat/cow, forearm plank and upward dog. Invigorating!
This short relaxation practice is perfect for the end of an active practice (any of the ones in this series!) or at the end of a busy stressful day! Connecting jaw, eye, and neck movements and including a release for the vagus nerve, the sequence prepares you for a full bodymind release that's both integrating and restoring...
This practice begins in a supine restorative pose, using a blanket roll along the spine, and ends in standing to experience both the groundedness and lightness that results from this conscious movement practice. The focus is on deep exploration of the SI joints through subtle movements and offers a way to feel imbalance in your own joints and move toward rebalancing. The focus then shifts to a standing pose sequence using a block under one foot at the wall to stretch and release the psoas and QLs. A perfect practice after a sedentary day!
This practice is one of deep core integration! The core consists of the deep abdominals, spinal muscles, diaphragm, and pelvic floor. This sequence brings a balance to the actions that strengthen, release, and stretch the core and bring them into harmony with each other in whole body movements. This is the state called core integration, and this practice truly clarifies both the boy and mind in a delightful way!

A head to toe ‘reset’!
A therapeutic sequence for Scoliosis
A deeply strengthening and liberating practice, recommended to balance stabilizers of the torso.
This practice is a favorite of mine ,leaving me feeling both strong and light throughout the torso and hips. A focus on the QL‘s in both supine and side-lying positions brings an integrated relationship between the rib cage and pelvis... a delicious feeling of inner body aliveness!
Quadruped and seated:
Core integration in quadruped with spinal mobility and a restorative inversion
This liberating practice begins with a series in quadruped position and explores using core actions to move the spine in all the potential planes of movement...
includes a detailed cat cow, ‘salamander’, and thread the needle. Next, seated hip balancing sequence followed by supported restorative inversion with breath awareness A very rejuvenating practice!
A deep internal stretch! This is a varied practice which offers a balanced feeling of strength and length both inside and out! Highlights are a hamstring series, somatic body scan with breath meditation, bridge pose with creative variations, and a QL stretch that both strengthens and lengthens for a satisfying feeling of expansion within!
Spine: supine and prone.
This deeply satisfying practice begins with a supine position reclining on a blanket roll for a somatic journey through body and breath.
Entering into movement slowly and with a focus on the deep interior muscles of the core, the practice gradually moves from supine to prone and develops to include full body stretches. Included are actions that integrate outer to inner, left to right, core to periphery... in a complete experience of rejuvenating embodiment!
Freeing the shoulders and hips into spiraling movements
This liberating practice begins with a long blanket roll under the spine, a sequence of movements for the hips, shoulders and spine that invite the joints into their full range of movement in an easeful way. The ending sequence is a somatic delight that guides coordinated spiraling patterns of all the joints of the body in a fluid supine dance. Fluidity and lightness are the intention!
Inner spirals for integrated movement!
What are the inner aspects of functional walking that allow integrated whole body participation in this most natural human form of movement?
This delightful practice targets the contralateral and spiraling movement of the torso and hips in a creative and engaging sequence and moves from supine to side lying. A true boost toward graceful and easeful embodiment!
‘Freeing the rib cage and psoas’
This is the perfect practice to choose when a feeling of internal freedom of movement and integration is what you’re seeking!
Starting with a deep embodied experience of the psoas and continuing with an integration of psoas and upper thoracic in an extended bridge pose sequence. Includes variations that strengthen the back body while opening the front. Great choice for those with scoliosis!
Therapeutic rebalancing of sacrum and pelvis.
This practice is perfect for those times when a feeling of lightness and connection between the feet and pelvis would be a welcomed relief!
Beginning with a somatic body scan and proceeding creatively toward the ‘pelvic reset’ sequence, the feet, ankles, knees, hips and SI joints receive a deeply therapeutic rebalancing!
Hip opening and Savasana
This is a perfect class to settle into after a physical activity such as a hike, a run, a bike ride, or a day on your feet!
With the primary focus being on balancing and opening the hips...the hip flexors, hamstrings, abductors and adductors are all addressed to bring a feeling of lightness to the pelvis, hips and legs. The relaxation practice that follows makes for a rejuvenating ‘reset’ for body and mind!
